5 Minute Makeup

How many of you feel like you are constantly rushing and hardly have time to get ready in the mornings? I know I do! I felt that way even before I had my son. Since becoming a mama, I definitely feel way more rushed to get ready now! I am a busy mom. I don’t have as much time as I used to have to get ready in the mornings. (Let’s face it, many mornings I don’t even put on any makeup.) So that is why I decided to show you what I use to finish my makeup in 5 minutes!

The first thing I do every morning, even if I am not planning to put on any makeup, is rinse my face and put on a moisturizer with SPF 15. I am a little bit of a sunscreen freak when it comes to my face. ;) I always put sunscreen on when I know I’ll be outside for a while!

Once that has had time to settle a little, you know, while I am chasing my son around trying to get him ready for the day as well, ;) then I will start my makeup. Here is what I usually use! (This is not a sponsored post and I am not trying to sell you anything. This is just some of my favorites and what works for me.)

I usually start with my eyes, just because if I were putting on eye shadow, I wouldn't want it to fall all over my freshly done foundation. So, I started with eyeliner and I noticed that of all the things I did, that took the most time. So, if you are not as concerned with your eyeliner, you might even be able to get this done a little faster ;) I then finished off my eyes with mascara, and I also noted that I typically do 2 to 3 coats (I did not include the eyelash curler in my first photo, but that is something that I always do!). I then did my under eye concealer. This is NOT a step that I personally feel I can skip because I’ve always had dark under eyes and since becoming a mom, I have noticed they have been even darker (yay sleep deprivation!...note the sarcasm) Once that is blended, I take the sponge that came in my pressed powder (I am using Urban Decay’s pressed powder) and I get it a little damp and then dip it on the powder and use it on my face in the areas that typically need more coverage. I then flip it over to the other (dry) side and go over the rest of my face with that. This is a little trick I learned from the lovely Kate from The Small Things Blog! After that, I finish with a little blush and swipe on some lipstick!

I actually even set a timer to make sure that I could really get this done in 5 minutes and not just be making things up for you guys. As you can see from the photo, I only went over by 11 seconds, so I would say that counts!

So, even if you are busy, I hope that you can find the products that work for you and that you can take just 5 minutes for yourself! I love that I can get my makeup done in only 5 minutes because I notice that even if I am just staying at home, I feel more productive and ready to take on the day. (But like I said, I don’t always do my makeup… sometimes it’s just easier to throw on some big sunglasses if I have to go anywhere ;) )

Here is the finished look! Don't mind my weird smile...my husband had just told me my other smile looked too forced, so this is what I followed up with, ha! ;)

  7. Yes getting ready in the morning is hard! Sometimes I'm lucky and get a nice shower before my husband leaves to work. Usually that's not the case my go toe are BB cream since it does have an SPF, powdering in my brows >_<, and mascara. Those make me feel a little put together.

    Great post!
